Specialist in Telecommunications
   

    Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the supervision of outsourced telecommunication assets maintenance and major equipment overhauls.

  • Develop and implement maintenance safety procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and the population at large.

  • Provide training for maintenance personnel so as to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective equipment maintenance.

  • Assist the Procurement unit preparation of tendering documentation and the subsequent bid analysis for the maintenance work

  • Assist Operational Planning in the preparation of the yearly equipment maintenance plan

  • Responsible for supervising the execution of the activities specified in the maintenance program.

  • Responsible for the management and update of the asset register.

    Education and Experience

  • Registration as a professional engineer with a minimum of 12 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Solid understanding of a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/ fields;

  • Considerable knowledge of the company's established guidelines, procedures and practices as well as other departments, suppliers and contractors;

  • Proficiency in planning and control methods;

  • Solid understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria;

  • Considerable knowledge of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques


  AOCG-08    :    Senior Engineer :
Specialist in HVDC
   

    Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the supervision of outsourced and in-house HVDC installations maintenance, and outsourced major equipment overhauls.

  • Develop and implement maintenance safety procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and the population at large at HVDC installations.

  • Provide training for maintenance personnel so as to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective equipment maintenance at HVDC installations.

  • Provide input to the Operation Planning function so as to enable them to prepare the annual maintenance program for HVDC installations.

  • Responsible for supervising the execution of the activities specified in the maintenance program at HVDC installations.

  • Responsible for the management and update of the asset register of HVDC installations.

    Education and Experience 

  • Registration as a professional engineer with significant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • In-depth understanding of a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/ fields;

  • Considerable knowledge of the company's established guidelines, procedures and practices as well as other departments, suppliers and contractors;

  • Proficiency in planning and control methods;

  • In-depth understanding of industry and' regulatory standards and design criteria;

  • Extensive knowledge of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques, and of principles and practices of area of specialization;

  • Capacity to determine program objectives and requirements and to develop standards and guides for diverse activities.

  • Making staffing decisions and providing employees with training and development opportunities;

  • Proposing and managing department budget and participating in development of unit budget;

  • Accountable for quality of work of subordinates, including those who supervise others;

  • Being accountable for unit deliverables;

  • Making recommendations concerning salary increases, performance evaluations and other Human Resources activities
